-
same up here Darren. I know of one, nice chap, JW and he charges £5 for a 3 bed semi. Glass only though.
-

-
I must be stupid but what is J/W?
Jehovah witness
anyway back to the question there is cheap j/w and expensive j/ws round my way and there is cheap non j/ws and expensive non j/ws
-
it just seems hard to get a decent price for work in cornwall at the mo
-

-
nothing wrong with 20 quid an hour

We are JW and believe life is sacred and thats why we are WFP, but know of other JW who dont follow the law and give to ceasar what is due, just my oponion, and are they cheap because of braking the law.

wot drugs r u on ma friend ??? ???

im a jdub and im relatively expensive compared to others, so i think its wrong to generalise about members of a religion and blame them for low prices.
-
i aint generalise about a religion i said where i was there area load of jw wc, who are cheap is this the same any where else, there seems to be that many new people coming in to this business this year, that it doesnt seem worth doing any more, as prices seem to be getting less and less
-
Hi darren
The only coincedence about Jw's in ~St Austell is that proportionally there are far more jw window cleaners to non jw window cleaners, same as all of Cornwall.
the ratio is about 5jw - 1 none, it is nothing to do with there religion.
I know some who charge very high prices, i
n all trades you have the cheap and the expensive.
-
yea ur probably right, just seem to of hit a area, where there is work, but its just over run with JW wc, probably just me going insane lol
-
thats a very sweeping generalisation and not very accurate!as has already been spoken of many times before on this forum.
you get cheap/dirt cheap/moderately expensive and very expensive!just because some guy is charging £5-£6 a semi doesnt mean he s on the dole/beer brigade etc.
if he has a very compact round and experienced(or wfp)then he can still make a fair wedge.he also might have some better priced domestic/commercial and see these run of the mill houses as "bread and butter" jobs.
also depends on area and the cost of living in your particular neck of the woods.if you clean frames/doors/sills and offer a longer cleaning frequency you should be able to double what the cheaper windys charge! ;) ;D ;D
some parts of my round are cheaper than others but they are very very compact!so other windys dont get a sniff!i also pick up the add on jobs at quite a lot of these custys!hardly any driving about/easy to collect.
of course i also have larger well priced domestics/stand alone jobs/a few commercial.a good mixture! ;) ;D ;D

Is the JW church not encouraging member to clean window if they have no work. I know of churches see it as a responsibility to help congregation if the have no income even when it come to buying tool for the needy flock. God blesses those who help themselves
-
i was speaking to a jw to day who said they do wc as it is part time hours so they can go do churchy things
-
Same around my way. Some window cleaners charge high, some charge low. Some are JWs. Some aren't. The good thing about it though is that the JW shiners are pretty unlikely to be on the fiddle as not paying the state its financial dues is regarded pretty badly by them. I bet a few are surprised I'm posting this but as always on this stuff, I call it as I see it.

How can you tell if a window cleaner is a JW? This is not a joke.

Just ask,.. chances are at least 50/50 he is in most area's.
I'm the most expensive cleaner in my area,.. but the cheapest guy is a JW too so its just not possible to judge by price alone. There is no official church encouragement to clean windows for a living, its simply a career choice that allows flexibility & time for the more important things,.. I guess a few JW's tried it years ago and others noticed their success & decided to give it a try, and it prob just snowballed from there.

If a Jehovah's Witness wasn't obeying Caesars law then he wouldn't really be a Jehovah's witness as that is intrinsic to our beliefs. The only time a witness wouldn't obey the law of the land would be if it clashed with the laws in the bible.
As others have said you get cheap windys and expensive windys of all beliefs, I like to think I'm in the middle. Cheap windys can be surprisingly cheap sometimes because of government top ups. Where as expensive windys will learn to live within there means and not understand how someone else can live on under £150 a week. I think prices have hiked a bit in recent years but not everybody has caught on.

Its not just jw's that do wc part-time its firemen and bus drivers. I was speaking to a fireman last week who was operating his wfp set up from a ford ranger. Looked the business.
