Hi,
I´m thinking of buying a new VW transporter for WFP.
And i don´t know what is the best solution for the back door.
And last - it there another car that is better?
;D

I would prefer a single door for the looks, however i think you would get fed up of pulling it down all day long!! ;)

Someone on here said that the lift up single door was best as it gives better options when running out hose from the back and that it provides a little protection from the weather when "up".

i have twin door at back, have no problems i can even close both doors with microbore coming out and lock them leaving abot a 1cm gap so the van is secure while away.

me too. Good thing about transporters is the doors lock automatically after about 15secs anyway. Just have to make sure you keep your keys in your pocket and not put them down inside the van and close door without locking as you'll be unpleasantly surprised to find it locks up ;D

I had a Nissan Sunny van for years for trad cleaning. They havwe a single, hatchback styly lift up door. The only problem with it was that it knocked into the ladder if I needed something from the back when the ladder was on. So if you will be carrying a ladder on the roof, you may want to check there is sufficient clearance.

I have a lift up door, i prefer it to be fair, hose doesnt get stuck on doors which is highly annoying, as mentioned slight protection from weather...or just get in vehicle lol. And you can shut door down on hose if you feel like it.
And mentioning the key sitatuation, my mates kid went to get something out the back of his van the other day, left the keys in the back and shut the door...guess what, clonk. RAC was there hours no good because vw have made them supper secure. He rang a locksmith (we're in the wrong job lads) my mate said he was there went to get a beer, and within 2 minutes doors were open...and my mate was £160 worse off!
