asking this in this area as seems to get quicker replies.
trying to get van insurance now but they're all coming in high at around £1100 area.
i've tried all the normal online comparison sites as well as gone direct to hastingsdirect and some random named one but both come even higher.
hoping someone can suggest a place to try? osing £1100 plus £600 for car for what will be the exact same amount of driving is a pain

What you are quoted depends on a lot of factors so no point say me and you comparing prices.
I am through Quoteline Direct 0870 2200 344 and been with them 2 years now.

I know comparisons are not fair because of area, but that seems horrendous! I too am with direct line (£365.00 !)

joe: of course, but there always seems to be people who say try these guys and it's a lot cheaper, e.g. comparison sites for cleaning insurance came to around £600, but polished insurance came to £350~ and better cover. hoping for the same sort of thing, but with so many it's impossible to know who to try.

I'm insured with Admiral van insurance and I pay £270.22 and I thought that was a tad expensive. ;D ;D ;D My Jag was £298.00. Both came from "Go compare" sourced from "Moneysupermarket.com" Both fully comp.,full NCD and protection. Mike

I'm getting a van tomorrow so have been doing the merry go round with the insurance companies, best so far Hastings at £279 fully comp with zero no claims bonus as I have had no van insurance before, which I though pretty good. I also had one fault claim from 2 years ago from an unfortunate incident with a deer which cost £2500.

that's pretty much it. i have no ncb so not saving the huge amounts that you lot are here, as well as i'm 22. might put one in later for someone with 5 ncb and is over 25 to see the difference, but speaking on the phone this is pretty much the reason why.
edit: just done the exact same quote, with nothing different but my age plus 5 years ncb unprotected, came in at £200, great ::)

You also want a good company just in case you have to claim as well..
I go with a local broker who also insures the cars and motorbike..
-
One of the few advantages of being over 50. ;D
£144 fully comp for van and £201 fully comp for Antara.

Spoke to the NFU yesterday.
I was enquiring about van/ truckmount insurance, and they told me that unless i had an exsisting policy with them they couldnt help me!
Funny that, cos over the last few years they have been on the phone trying to offer me a quote!!
