I've not heard of a "post" filter - only pre filter. I've never heard of filters AFTER the membranes - except of course resin for polishing up. Not saying it doesn't happen but I just can't see it.
On my merlin, I have the carbon/chlorine prefilter housing just above the two membrane housings - i.e. before the membranes.
In fact the setup goes as follows:-
20" iron prefilter.
20" sediment prefilter
then the merlin bit which goes carbon/membrane/membrane (from the top)
then two medium sized blue DI vessels in series.
The iron prefilter may not be strictly necessary but was installed after flooding when there was higher iron content in the water which affected previous membranes. The sediment prefilter can be 10" so long as it'#s changed more frequently. The carbon prefilter is, obviously, the usual merlin size (about 17").
Just never heard of post filters. I always thought the other filters were for protecting the membranes so must be before them.
Of course I don't know everything by a long shot and I imagine new things come out from time to time.

is it a seperat fillter if so you onley us that for drinking water ,the muerlin has 3 fillters in houseing top one carbin the two botom ones are menberanis ,and sum use a micron fillter befor the mulin

Stick it before the Merlin.
The Merlin is primarily for making drinking water and that post filter is used for that. You dont need it to make the water taste better which is what it does in houses.
You could do without it but you may as well use it to help protect the membrane. After 3 months just forget about it but disconnect it from the Merlin.

As already said the little post filter is only required for drinking water - you don't even need it if you are making pure for WFP.
