Hi,
Wanted a new one so it comes with all the warranty etc.
Funny I have a prochem and happy enough with it and would be happy to replace it with like for like, but having never used any other type might need to look at other options, any ideas what is worth a go?

Depends on how much you want to/ can spend.

For my own needs, I wouldn't be buying the machine you mentioned. But.....
When you've considered all options, look at why you initially wanted to buy another Prochem machine.
Do the alternatives have comparable performance?
Do the alternatives have comparable reliability?
Do the alternatives have comparable technical support?
Do the alternatives have comparable local dealer support?
Do the alternatives have comparable levels of quality service?
Prochem have set the bar very high and so will be a tough act to follow. Just look at the experiences of some CIU members who bought a Speedster :-X
Only when a product ticks all the boxes can you purchase with confidence.
BTW Many Prochem dealers often offer better deals than Prochem themselves, so shop around. Also, if it's of value to you, you often get a free prochem training course when you purchase one of their machines. Even if you have attended these or similar courses before, a refresher is always useful.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

PS
Try suppliers such as Restormate, Cleansmart, Cleaners Warehouse etc. etc.

the great thing about a portable is that you can carry spares on van and fix as you go if needed. treat your machine with care and it will last.
Have a look at a ninja they are the transit vans for carpet cleaning so easy to fix and the advantage is you can hock them up with each other to get greater water lift, and really long hose runs. dont need steam if you use good working methods

Something i have a lot of experience of doing !!
Still not fun when it happens, even when you do carry spares.
Just spent a load more on mine .

when I first read this thread I did not think a lot about it, but today is the first time for about 4 months I was forced to use a portable machine. I have a steempro and a ninja and although the performance of the machines is comparble, as they have the same components the prochem machine feels and looks considerably more robust and substantial.
However the main thing that really hits home after using a portable is how vastly inferior they are to a truckmount and I am glad that I do not use them very often.
Over the last 20 years I have owned so many prtable machines and the quality of the steampro is probably the best of all of them. If you can afford a new machine buy it get the warranty and look professional it will pay you in the long run. Once you are familiar with the machine and can rewire and change componets then you can look at getting bargains but if you do not know what you are looking at you will probably be buying someone elses problem that they are glad to see the back of.
