Title: HELP PLEASE - Flyers saved as PDF file - want to modify the text ?
Post by: kinder clean on May 31, 2010, 11:32:37 am
I use software called PagePlus9 to design my flyers, the problem is once I've saved my work as a PDF file, if I ever want to modify the text

and prices I can't re-open the Adobe PDF file with PagePlus9  :-\

Are there any free downloads that allow you to modify text on a PDF file ?

Desperate to get this print ready as I'm almost out of flyers.

P.S. - No I don't have Adobe photoshop !!!  :(

Many thanks

Paul

Think you may find out that you have to have Adobe pdf writer to be able to alter pdf files.

Adobe pdf reader is available free but hey have to make money somewhere or else thay cannot develop software.
Bit like giving free carpet cleans is a no go - doesnt do anything for the business in the long run.

And most new quality software you have to register it so maybe borrowing someones software will not work either.

Paul, I'd suggest you either bite the bullet and buy the pro software or just hand it to your printer and they will do it for you, obviously a one-off fee is going to be charged.  Just work out what is going to be the most cost-effective option in the longer term and whether you prefer to do things yourself or just pay someone else to do the hassle bit for you.

Why can you not open the file in its original format - before you saved it as a pdf? Surely you saved the file in PagePlus format?

This makes sense for when you need to do exactly what you now need to do!

Good thinking Mark.

My brain was trying to get there you but you beat me too it.

Saving it in pdf format would be for the printer, so its logical to think it is saveable in the program in Serif format

You can save as a PDF on pageplus 9 but cant edit, Sorry it only a cheap programme.

If he has trouble, you can always send me you flyer and I will convert it to almost any file you like.

I have every Professional software programme going almost.

If you created the file in page plus and then exported or saved as pdf there should be a coresponding import filter in the program.

you shouldnt have any proplems importing it back in start a new page an then look for import usualy on the file menues - it could be the same menu item  as where you import pics into document look to see if you can alter file type

you should have a list of file types Ie jpg eps tiff ect one of these could possibly be  pdf select this and then browse to the pdf - the above is just a guess - have never known any dtp program not capable of importing a file type it can export too

better still go to help on your program and search for import pdf -

you cant edit PDFs in pageplus9. It does not have the ability. You can edit PDFs in pageplus 11.

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

Emclean - this is serrif !! You must have a more modern version, apart from this I can't fault the software.

Jim - Simple - I'm from up north !  ;D I just wanted to be able to do this for myself, instead of paying someone every time I have to update a flyer.

The reason I don't have this in it's pageplus format is I didn't create this one, someone did it for me before I got the pageplus 9 software, but Dave is right, must have a look at version 11.

Thanks again

Paul
