Wind.
Rain.
People who put arches over their gates.
Dorma Windows.
Wind.
Those stupid UPVC windows. You know, the ones with the plastic crosses glued onto the outside of the glass, leaving 4 squares at the top 3"X3".
Wind.
Knee surgery.
Replacing roof tiles.
Wind.

you must be a shortarse to need a ladder for downstairs ;)
-
dog crap the whole way up the ladder and you only notice it when the hands hit it on the way back down
-
for me they are
1 waiting for people to move their cars so I can put the ladder up and clean the window
2 not cleaning windows that the roof is to wet or slippery
3 knowing I have to go all the way down to the bottom of the ladder just to move it a few inches as I cannot reach all the window in one go
4 hate leaded windows
Adders ;)

leaving squeegee on window sill and not noticing till you have got to the top of the ladder on the next window >:(
did that this week ;)
-
ive never left a squeegee on a window sill in 16 years!i use a boab!
or left ladders at a job and forgot to pick them up!
or put my hand in dog muck that ive trod up the ladder!
or put scrim over my shoulder!
still there is time!a month to go before the changeover!! :D :D :D
-
never used a boab, bought one last year but havnt tried it yet ;)

glad i am not the only one, one time pulls up at junction on busy road, hear familiar sound of ladder sliding forward, then see it shoot of roof rack , scraping bonnet (on a new berlingo multi space that was only a few mths old ),luckily, gap in traffic , so no cars hit , or driving over it.
2nd time pulled out of a custys , onto a fast road , you know the type, small gap in traffic so you floor acelerator, this time forgot to strap 9 ft a frame on , came shooting off, turned round further down road , went back to retrieve it ---to late lorry drove straight over it >:(

Let me get this right lads, some of you fill water into your BOAB?
I hate going up ladders when I know there is an alternative. I'm lazy.
-
stan you do make me laugh!!do you enjoy taking the mop/blade up the ladder in yer hand rather than in a purposely designed holster?i use the unger boab 2 squeegee version now.room for 14in/18in blades and mop!
i couldnt imagine carrying them up!! ;D ;D ;D
or are you still wet /dry scrimming everything?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

i used to wet applictor, then drain a little , then put into boab, it continues to drain whilst in there , if you get used to putting it in the same way round , you will have 1 end that is drier, this was the end i would use on glass next to frame , so i could go right upto frame, without over wetting it , when applicator became dry i would shake boab, it would then wet applicator , for a few more windows

Yeah Daz, so do I but I get the impression that some guys use it as a bucket
-
1- wind/gusts of winds
2- wet slate roof/wet quarry tile path
3- big dogs
4-serial messers who keep charming me into keeping me hanging on ( one of these told me today "come on jonny, smile " when she finally coughed up my money after 4 visits
-
Trad using it to build muscle and keeping those few pounds of you as going up and down the ladder is like arobics :).
Making sure ladder does not slide to left or right by be under window sillor in edge of window, if windy and keeping three points of contact while working.
Insurance doesn't allow to climb up apex roofs.
Dip applicator into bucket and running your hand across it to taken excess off and not keeping water in the B.O.A.B when climbing over fences.
Washing lines if clothes are on it aim for clean washing with bottom of the ladder with muck on it so need a rewash.
Dont mind using ladders in the least makes me feel like a proper window cleaner or even a dare devil :) against the impossible.
Or even a mission impossible avoiding all sorts of things in people gardens when trad.
