Title: extracta chems
Post by: md_cleaning on May 29, 2010, 10:28:59 am
I saw Skywalkers clip of pub cleaning and thought the results were great for a single pass, now I'm still in the dark ages using a scrub wand, although for three years have been thinking of getting a rotovac or an extracta like Skywalkers, but to get those results without pre spraying was great, have never used any of there chems, I started on prochem and still use Power Burst, I use solutions mainly, but have also used alot of alltec, but is extracta worth a look, specially super chem and lift off?

Most presprays are equally effective but require different approaches. Some are sprayed on and given a dwell time of a few minutes ( the longer the better ) others need to be vigorously aggitated to get the best from them. Others still, are misted on and aggitated with pads containing a neutralising chemical or misted - aggitated - HWE with water or an acidic rinse.

Try as many as you can ............you might be surprised at the results you get.  Even water has a dramatic effect on releasing soil from fibres. In my early days I spilt water on more than one occasion and was astonished at the result when the water had remained on the carpet for half an hour.

Extracta's "Lift Off" is well worth a try and the Scrubba is very under rated IMO!

Is the scrubba rated at 135psi?

I thought it was 100psi...

Doesn't really matter,  pumps can be reduced to 100psi or less on virtually every machine.

I've been using Extractas Superchem for almost 10 years now and certainly have no complaints...its good stuff. A 12.5 Kg tub is just under £35 (inc vat) but they do give a generous discount if you buy 4 or more.
I tend to only use the Lift Off in really bad areas (pubs, restaurants doorways)...be warned though, it creates a hell of a lot of foam and extracta's De-foamer is rubbish !

As it happens I was in Extracta on Friday getting a hand tool repaired, they still make the best hand and stair tools on the market in my opinion, just wish they would upgrade them to use on a TM.  I also bought some some Solvent spray and a few other odds and sods.

Whilst I was waiting I had a good chat with Brian and he asked what chemical I was using now (Formula 90) and why I wasn't using Super-chem anymore?

Basically I went off Superchem because I had a few occasions where it didn't perform very well in really bad situations and we started trying alternatives before settling for Formula 90.

At £96.00+vat for 50kg of Superchem, it is much cheaper that Formula 90 which is £55.00+vat for just 10kg.

Anyway I came away with a tub of Superchem and promised Brian to try it again, I'll give it to one of the lads next week and he can compare it to Formula 90.

I may end up coming back pleasantly surprised by the results, or coming back saying "you get what you pay for!", I'll let you know.  ???
