Hi
Been using Microsoft office live online for a good while now with good results tho as its a "free website" the templates just never looked that professional heres a snaphot example of old webby:
http://www.easyraydesign.co.uk/aa-clean-old/
and heres the new one,
http://www.aa-clean.co.uk
The "upgrade" happened as a direct result of a random email I received from a local company offering affordable web design. So glad I did!!! (and just shows email marketing works!)
It has just gone live today and is "straight from the shop" so needs some additions / tweaks in gallery etc to be done by myself with my own logins
Any comments or thoughts most welcome .... :)
Best wishes

Loving that !! Looks very pro,and clean
-
Yeah, like that a lot Stu
-
I liked your old one, the wording was more customer friendly that said this looks far more professional.
IMO when you click onto the prowler you should have a picture with the writing so people can look and read and that gives them recognition.

love the website but.......
not sure about calling yourself "AA" and having a yellow van ;D
sorry in advance ;D
-
Thanks for input so far chaps ;D
points taken on board Shaun just what i am looking for any glaring mistakes or blindin good bits etc...
No worries derek i often ponder that one myself - always wondered how many potential custys see me as just another AA van man and not the best local cc round ere!!! lol next van will be a black one with yellow graphics. BTW - AA Cleaning & maint means All Aspects of Cleaning.... the van is just a bit of tongue in cheek and a good van to boot.

That site looks almost perfect, very professional and i love the before and after photo's the one with the cushions is amazing the only "fly in the ointment" is the photo i presume of you in what looks like a vest, sorry to put a downer just my opinion that it does not look professional ,still a great site though

found a typo ;D
well a missing word
Please remove as many small, manageable items of furniture and breakables / valuables and electricals where physically possible to a safe convenient location. Assistance is available upon request. We can easily move the larger items by use of our slider system. TVs and computers will only moved by prior agreement otherwise they will be cleaned around.
there should be a "be" in between the word "only" and "moved"
right someone elses turn ;D
every little helps ;)

Hi Stu,
Nice site, very pleasing to the eye, how much was it?
Couple of problems you need to tell them about, not checked it all though, there are maybe more.
The link people can click on when they hover the cursor over the header div (your logo) isnt correctly coded thats why it doesnt work and take you back to the index (home) page, it is only on a couple of pages for some reason ???, but should be on them all:
<div id="header">
<p id="logo"><span>AA Cleaning And Maintenance</span> (http://aa-clean.co.uk/index.php.php)</p>
it should only have one .php and it will be ok.
Also the about us link on the: <div id="snav-wrap"> isnt linked to any page:
<div id="snav">
<ul>
<li>Home (http://aa-clean.co.uk/index.php)</li>
<li><a href="#">About Us[/url]</li>
so it doesnt work.
Kind regards,
Paul

Not showing off at all, and you can have the pic if you want it shaun in the full 10meg glory with out the horrible txt I put on it :) but dont tell istock :-X
Before I started this business 7 years ago I did study html at college for a couple of years, and have done some very good websites over the years for others, but its like any trade, if you are a painter and decorator, you never do your own, or dont do it as good as you do for your customers ::) trying to get back into it at the mo, but am always 2 busy.
Hey Derek did you ever get that leather job from that blond girl :o in winnington that I put u on to??
-
only joking paul, i'm actually quite impressed, i always thought you studied "A" level lager at college ;D
no, dint get round to ringing her, been quite busy and you put me off when you said you struggled to get money out of her for the carpets, ive put my prices up for leather now so dint think i'd have much of a chance. but cheers for the nod, and i'll pass everything on to you that i can't do with a trucky, when you free for a coffee?

I would have to agree looks good but as you said some more work to make it really professional. When I opened it on the home page words over ran into each other, which didn't look professional.

Hi Ian,
What browser do u use?
All the best,
Paul
-
'Carpet cleaning cleaners for a cleaner Middlesbrough' as a Browser title gets your keywords in but doesn't really make sense. Does anyone take any notice of Browser titles though?
-
Morning
Thanks for input everyone very interesting and helpful
The yellow vest is an integral part of my uniform underneath my t shirt as I am a sweaty b*****d LOL
The page title doesnt make sense but I came up with that for my old site and thought it helped get it page one google.... which is where it ended up so thought best leave it as is
Best wishes

Hi Stu
looks professionally done, well done on all the hard work.
I would change the "Testimonials" box and prowler boxes around and have photos next to each testimonial as it will make them more believable and say so much more.
You also need a H1 with you top keyword as its not in your url
Why are you hiding those photos away (they are great) they need to be on that slide show. with respect no cares about the prowler or van apart from you. its what can this guy do for me attitude.
With respect

Well i must say first time in a while i see a very good website. It's easy to read, professional and with easy navigations, so well done! :)
-
oh yes and one thing i have noticed it will need alot of work doing to it in terms of SEO make sure you do that as it will be useless without it.
-
I know this is a bit cheeky, but i have asked him to re fresh mine !! ;D Yours is among the best i have seen ,and my site is 5 tears old and looking tired
-

But Stu didnt make/build it dash t, he just paid for it.

What do you suggest he does?
Some people just dont understand my posts, its a very well made and nice looking website, that has got some serious faults as pointed out. Stu is going to pass this info on to the company that built the site. If you or I pay good money to a company to build a website then it has to be right, this means all links should work, spelling should be correct, and it should view ok in all browsers.
-
I totally agree with the above Paul, web builders sometimes put the onis on you to spill chuck! if they want to do the job properly it should be proof read by them.
The proof in the pudding will be when they put it right and then come beck here for a grilling from Paul and Dash.

i thought stu had built it himself
how much was it then stu?
-
Thats what i thought derek..Nice site as well..
-
sorry but i'm not so keen on the site. well i like the design, just not for carpet cleaning. i find it hard to see it's for carpet cleaning but i can't quite work out why that is. maybe someone else will see what i mean and be able to advise with that. maybe it's the colours and the first image being a prowler, the 2 make it look like a website selling engines and such, as well as then the yellow van. kind of reminds of these sort of sites: http://www.carsparefinder.co.uk/
do customers care to see the machine you're using that much that it needs to be the first image? just my thoughts that if they wanted to know what you use then they'll look for it.
you've used the word cleaning too often in your page title, and then the page title is used on all the pages, so google will struggle to see what the difference of the pages is.
why do you have a picture of the world on the contract us?
you're a carpet cleaner, but carpets is only mentioned twice on the home page.
why have you linked to sites like British Red Cross, Christian Aid UK, National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), National Autistic Society?
just a few things on my mind which could be improved. sure some will disagree, and some you may find unimportant, which they perhaps are, i just wanted to give some critical views to help.
don't go thinking i don't have any positive reasons, just there would be no point listing them as that wouldn't help you improve

Who was the local website design company, as there are a few dodgy ones on Teesside, when it comes to next year
