Get experience with another cleaner
Get trained
Learn to market
Test you market
Buy your machine
Market
Work

Do the above in that order and youll be as good as the rest of us.

Neil,
If you go through all the recent posts and also use the search facility , you will find eons of info.
Like most things ,it's the effort you put in, that counts.

cheers mark i don't fancy working for my competitors before i start my own business up but the rest you say is true cheers

Nobby,
What Mark means by 'get experience with another cleaner' is simply to find someone in another area that would let you spend a day or two with them, in order to see if it's for you. Not, go and work for another cleaner!
Imagine if you spent a load of time and money getting into this business and hated it!!

Look on ebay for good quality machines, i bought a prochem machine including in line heater, wand hand tool, stair tool and lots more for £1450.00 a bargain!
Look out for prochem, alltec, Ashbys, extracta machines these will generally deal with most jobs. Also you need a machine with a heater this really makes life easier.
Also consider a n estate car instead of a van you can then use this socially as well as for work.
if you want any more tips email me homenclean@lycos.co.uk
