Title: Cleaning Frequency - WFP
Post by: Matthew JN on May 25, 2010, 10:52:00 pm
Hi all,

Just wondering what frequency people are cleaning on with WFP ??

I know alot of guys seem to be doing 4 weekly or monthly.

I myself have some rounds on 5-6 weeks and all others on 7-8 weeks.

Around 50% 4 weekly, 50%8 weekly,  finding quite a few customers are now requiring 8 weekly cleans instead of 4 .

Trad or WFP, I don't think there's really a difference that matters when it comes to frequency.

I think as a rule, the better your prices the less frequent you should be.  The bulk of my work used to be done calendar monthly and as my prices increased so did the 'Is it that time already?' comments.

So for the past few years I've been taking new stand alone jobs on at high prices and I push the long frequency (8 weekly) as part of the sell, and I find it works well.  Customers seem to be generally more inclined to accept the higher price at a less than usual frequency, and they seem happy to see us when we arrive to clean their windows.

And I'm probably more like 5 or 6 weekly for my 'monthly work', which is great, because I think I am at the edge of what I can reasonably charge (well that's my perception; I can't say for sure) without giving them resentments and looking for a new cheaper window cleaner.

I cannot imagine cleaning domestic properties every-two-weeks, for those window cleaners who do, don't your customers get tired of seeing your ugly mugs looking at them from their already clean windows? ;D

tosh i always offer 4 weekly, i stopped offering 2 weekly two years ago but i have a few just want it and as long as they pay i will keep doing it.

in fact i dropped a lot of 2 weekly to 4 weekly when they forever owed 2 or 3 cleans and now if anyone asks for 2 weekly(i was asked today) i say i will try and if they keep paying on time i do it if not they go 4 weekly.

personally i think they are mental especially as i dont do it cheaply to get fortnightly work

I started out at first doing monthly - with some customers having two monthly.
Eventually that morphed into six weekly for everyone.
These days it's six weekly (meaning 6 - 8 weekly) with a few larger jobs on 12 weekly.  I've got the odd few jobs on other frequencies but they are large enough to stand alone or they are very local so no problem with that.  These jobs are mostly commercial.

We took the plunge about 3 years ago
Everyone is on a 6 weekly cycle
apart from the odd commercial

Some people are 'mental', I agree.  I reckon Wor Lass would have our windows cleaned on a fortnightly basis, but she just can't be bothered with fighting me that frequently.  ;D

4 weekly mainly - prob a good 85% and the rest is 8 weekly.

i always charge more for a 8 weekly clean so i find most go with the 4 weekly.

5 weekly scheduled on George but I tell customers it's 5 / 6 weekly.  That way, if I have a weeks holiday or weather holds me up they aren't expecting me.  My old dears are buggers for ringing me if I'm just a few day's late.  Works for me and custies seem happy with that.  The only other time period I offer is 10 / 12 weekly so that they still fall due when I'm working that area.

I made a mistake of offering various periods early on and it was very uneconomical financially and time wise.

dont do that many fntly now, years ago when i started, most of mine insisted on 2 wks, was the norm round here, i soon realised i could earn more by changing to 4 wkly and increasing price.
