We used to use loads of this type of fan when i worked at Rainbow in flood jobs. They are good for keeping you cool during the hot weather and also aid drying times whilst keeping you cool.

That, Richie, is basically what Lidl was selling last Thursday and what I got from Machine Mart almost 2 years ago.
With a little adaption you could bypass the "stop" on the tilt and get it to be a downdraft fan if wanted.

If you do cut the stop off, put a cable tie around the rubber bush that goes between the fan and the frame. It's not a flat disc shape, but moulded to the shape it sits in. When you swivel the fan round it will split this rubber bush and it will stop gripping, so the fan will not stay in any one position. I learned this the hard way ;)
