Title: starting early

been out the last 2 days and every where i look seems to be a new window cleaner, either in there vans or cars with the scrim hanging off there ladders,  summer brigade is starting early this year

why does scrim hanging off ladders make them summer brigade, i would have thought it good health and safty practice to stop people walking into the ladders,you sound like another stuck up wfp man

lol

i guess i must be part of the stuck up wfp group,  i just seems u do a area for months and all of a sudden there is new cleaners in there escort,  ladders on top,  man utd top and shorts,

  Yeah, that`ll be Gary Neville. The seasons over and he`s not going to the World Cup so he`ll just be earning a few bob.

Are you meaning the 'fair weather' chancer types - trying to earn a quick buck over the summer months. Ladders on the family car etc.

im glad tyour thinking about health and safety Stan  ;D when you going wfp to make your policy better ?

why do you sound surprised?it happens every year!!and has for the last 16 years ive been cleaning!!lots of competition!keeps us on our toes and makes us strive to provide the best service we can for a fair price! ;) ;D ;D ;D

There are a lot of blokes from other jobs who are finding it very quiet at the moment. And if this new government does what they have to do there will be a lot more people looking to do a bit of window cleaning to tide them over.

Hi,

Out this morning & was thinking that in the next couple of years it would be possible for any one to set up window cleaning WFP for a couple of hundred quid as prices get cheaper what with all the WFP manufacturers & suppliers not to mention the window cleaners who as a side line make & sell them.  So instead of the summer brigade with ladders & scrim on roof rack it will be the summer brigade with DI canister barrels of purified water in the boot with pole on roof rack.

i know what u mean windolene,  i do the windows, for a women who use to have them done by a fireman who would turn up in his car with a small tank in the boot

Window cleanings always like that. Its the easiest business in the world to start up and the first thing most people think of doing when they get made redundant.

What I find less acceptable is that some of the WFP manufacturers (no names) seem to be targeting these people to make a fast buck selling them kit.
