With backgrounds in marketing, that should stand you in good stead. It's a really weak point of mine; so I'm a bit jealous.
Good luck guys.

I havent the balls at the min.... hope things will go soon... ::) ::)

There will be moments when you wonder if you've made a mistake, but stick with it even when you feel demotivated. Just work through those tough times as there are so many plus points and good days to more than out weigh the bad times.
Good luck guys

A good tip; Try to get in as much work in the summer as some will drop out in the winter and they are not so easy to replace in the cold.So realy put your back into it while the customer are keen to have windows cleaned in summer, by the time the cold come you have proved yourself.

good tip rich, added about £7k of work last summer, and lost it all by feb. gutted! wifes full time canvassing now, and shes got about £2k back in only a couple of weeks! i think people respond to women better.
so we should be back on track soon.

You lost 7k worth of work? What on earth were you doing to loose that much work?

one word - undercutters!
lost some big commercials too.
i did cancel a few too, timewasters, rude custs etc
most of my work is £20 8 weekly, so it doesnt take a lot to knock the profits when some are lost
-
£20 for what may I ask? Three beds?
-
7grands worth of work canvassed and lost?? ??? ???
i lose the odd one or two and i dump the odd one or two from time to time but thats it! :D :D
it sounds to me like your a tad bit overpriced hence the undercutting and we all know commercial is more cut throat and we should just enjoy it while it lasts!!
thats why i think its important to have good steady regular "bread and butter work" domestic(fairly priced) and see your commercial/ large residential as your "cream".that way one or two losses dont hurt much.

Even so, thats alot of work to be loosing. I would be getting the rope out!

7k at 20 quid a pop, if it was 7k a year he means is only 30 customers
ie 30 x 20 = 600x12=£7200
-
i think £20 for an average property 8-15 windows is normal especially at 8 weeks.
i dont rely on commercial too many eggs in a basket.

my weak point is the actual cleaning ;D .. getting quicker though ...... if the window cleaning dont work out for me then I can always start a marketing course for windies !! :D
