I have a VW caddy and my pole will only fit if it is diagonal across the van and going from top corner to bottom. Im afraid that something may shift in transit a break the pole.
are there any poles which have 4ft sections?

you not thought about a roof rack ?

I used to have my poles diagonal across the back of my van when I had a Vauxhall Combo and never had any problems...

Think Pure2o will make you a pole up. They only do up to 6 sections though, so your looking at a max 24ft pole if you want a 4ft closed length.
I'd go with Ian and get a roof rack. That way your not limited to the poles you can carry / height you can work at in future.

easy to sort - 110mm soils stack from most diy places eg srewfix
then just fit it to the roof rack - i have two i made on my partner van - total cost i think was about £70.
if you wanna see it then put in 143 churchdrive quedgeley gloucester - one of my vans is at a few house we do in that road.
it looks good and its alot cheaper than buying a pole carrier
