I got it from maplins , its a dual charger if you didnt know , if anybody has fitted one to keep their leisure battery charged , can you tell me .....
Did you wire the positive and negative inputs directly to your alternator , or do you just wire them into the wires that are already there ?
All help appreciated

Hi Roy ,
I have the exact same instructions supplied with it but i just cant seem to see where the 2 wires on the left go to !
Do you have it fitted to your van ?
If so where do they go ?
Ihave a feeling they go to the alterator , but i am not sure if you take the wiring off the alternator and fit the box to it and then rejoin it after the little black box , or do you just cut into the wiring at the alternator , thus leaving the original wiring in place ?

I do have a split charge relay, but mine is different. Mine just needs a live feed.
Yours by the look connects to the wire from you altenator to the + on relay the - to a earth a screw to body work.

You will need to join the wire to altenator using scotch lock conectors.

Scotch locks are the blue push things yes ? the ones where the flap goes over and locks in ?
And you reckon that it just ties into the live from alternator ?
That was my thought , and i spose it makes sense now !

I used to have to go to the local garage for my grandad (about 40 yrs ago) to swop these accumulators (flat one for charge one ) so that he could listen to the Wireless (had no electric in the house just gas.
-
Graham , your right , accumulator is the snobs battery !
It should work with any amp battery as long as both are same voltage.
I havent fitted mine yet so i cant tell you if they work ok.

accumulator is the snobs battery
My grandad would be pleased
Snob =worked down pitt lived in house with no electric (imagine doing the washing) Gas mantels for lighting.Range for heating and cooking.
I think accumulator was the original name given to units that could store (accumulate) electricity,, I think, no doubt someone will correct me.
Alan
