My handtool is now leaking water at an alarming rate when connector to my extractor, even when the trigger is not drepressed. I have tried fitting both the (new) trigger valve kits I received from Amtech today, but with no change. They sent me these as a result of a call I made on Monday, then when I rang them today they queried my ability to fit them ( I have done this before!) and also did I need "new" or "old" replacement kits.
As cleansmart can no longer obtain CFR parts I wondered if anyone who can and has more knowledge than I would be able to repair the tool, any ideas please?

Have you checked the hose connection's inside the vacuum hose as this maybe where the leak is.

Philip, i ordered a spare one recently and they asked me the same, new or old.
I took it that they have changed the trigger valve, i have the origonal so
i ordered it and it was ok.
Maybe you have a different age one to what they sent you.

Shaun, leaks from the nozzle(not jet), or back down the vacuum tube if you disconnect it
Carpetmas5, yes have been in touch with Amtec, they did not at the first time of asking ask if it was "new" or "old", reluctant to try again as I will be charged, again!
Andrew, have tried a new and old, same result.

As long as the white plastic washer (on the new valve) isn't letting any water past then it shouldn't leak.

I have had the same problem on mine. Basically I bought one of those little packs of assorted O-rings for a quid off the market and replaced the ones on the valve stem. Problem solved but only for so long; they will eventually go again and you need to get the size exactly right. Also check the return spring is ok and strong enough. A small spanner a pair of needle nosed pliers and to box of rings is always in the van ready for next time. If it goes on a job, then I stand it in a bucket in between!

have you checked the Quick connect before the trigger assembly as these periodically do leak big time. Pull the vac hose back where the cuff slips onto the handtool. You dont always realise they are leaking as the vac is sucking it straight ack up the hose.
