We did a job today on the 16th & 17th decks of P&O Ventura.
This is one serious set up for twin RX20's a super long range. Total lines length 800 feet. The ship to shore lines are each 175 feet long. The room that sticks out from the side at the aft end is where one of the RX's was cleaning.

just out of curiosity, do you take them up and drop them down or do you drop a rope and pull them up?

I was working just to the right of the queen mary 2 today , in Hythe marina village , the back gardens of the houses are boat berths , and they have some fancy boats too!

How did you tie the hoses to prevent them jumping ship drag must be enormous.

Nice job simon. To memory, longest hose run i've ever run was 550 feet (11 lengths) that was in single wand mode. How do you prevent the hose that goses over the rail from kinking?

The ship to shore lines are each 175 feet long and the on board lines are standard 50 foot lengths of 2 inch hose, it takes some putting together, but believe it or not the set up time is only around 45 minutes.

We drop a rope and pull the ship to shores up the side of the ship. Spinach required ;D

I'd love a crack at Oasis of the Seas, she's a monster. At 220,000 tons she's almost twice the size of Ventura, though no taller, just longer and a lot wider.

On extremely high jobs like this we have to allow around 25 feet of slack in the lines to cater for the wind effect you get at the aft end of such a big structure and then another 10 or so feet for the contraction of the lines as they come under load during cleaning and then some for the changes in the tide during our time alongside, all of these things have to be considered so that breaking strain cannot be reached. The lines are double tied to the ship with an extra safety tether midway. It's as safe as it gets when operating that high.

They are straight hose runs that cannot kink once set up. We've had 1,100 feet of hoses running triple RX20's and have now developed the system to run four of them if and when required.

Notice you've anchored them with a rope from the top deck.
How far down from the top did you tie the rope to the hose?
