posted loadsa leaflets had  :-\decent response but best way of getting new custom is word of mouth ive found, got 4 this week of recomendations. . any tips re canvassing etc.

I've read here - and believe it to be the case - that the best way to get recommendations is to ask for them.

I always ensure my 'first cleans' are top notch and say at the end something along the lines of, 'If you think we're great, please recommend us'.

And on all my 'Your Window Cleaners Have Been' chits, I have 'If you like what we do, please recommend us to your friends, neighbours, and work place'.

It does work; asking for recommendations.

not half as much as a poor job it doesnt!!

Tosh is right in asking, you get free quality leads, still now I get people say we have been looking for a window cleaner. ::) I leaflet, have knocked more leaflets the people we clean next door are happy.

So Stan if you want to be more run off your feet just ask!  ;D

  got decent response, posted about a thousand and got about 12 replies but then got reccomended by new customers to pals etc

stan do you get the feeling that custys dont like wfp and do they refer to them as "tossers" and not proper window cleaners?or is there some ok wfpolers near you that you get on with?or do they look down at a humble trad man? ;D ;D ;D ;D
