Nathaneal I just realised its not £ think it equates to around £8

as a former cleaner, anything less then £7 per hour when only few hours were offered is too low to really appreciate. if it's a full day and every day then not so bad, just usually you have 2 hours morning, 3 hours afternoon, then nothing next day, so £6.50 is pretty low, and may even push for the cleaner to go at it themselves as they'd easily get more.

In Ireland minimum wage is €8.65 for most ppl, but in the cleaning industry its €9.50,.. when you add holiday pay & employers contribution it costs €12 per hour to employ someone. The there are insurance costs, equipment costs, etc etc.
I don't do domestic cleaning though, my girls do daily cleaning in schools. To be honest there is very little profit in it normally, but they get us to do a big clean every summer & wax all the floors which makes it worth while.

I know of a company in the west midlands that pays their cleaners £5.98 per hour :o

And I bet they are loyal, motivated and trustworthy - only Slovacs and the like take those jobs around here and you don't turn your back on them
