After reading a very informative article I decided that after cleaning quite a few leaded windows over nearly 20 years I better get check from the Doctor for lead poisoning.
He said nothing to worry about...Phew. that was a close one.
I asked if he wouldn't mind checking my white rabbit, talking doormouse and teapot
All ok. I'm not UP THE POLE yet....

When I cleaned them the old way (damp cloth/dry scrim) it was the cloth that touched the lead, not my hands. I think the risk is virtually non-existent unless (as GG puts it) you lick'em clean!
I used to work in the lead smelting industry and those working nearest the furnaces had monthly tests and were moved to more distant work if their lead/blood count started to creep up. Within a few weeks it would drop back.
That was in the 70's and 80's mind you.
