I went to clean a large house today for one of my favorite clients.

When I picked up the job she told me that the previous WC charged £75 so I said I could match that. In fact it should have been priced between £85-90 but she wants them cleaning every 4 weeks and you don't chuck that sort of money away!!

Now I have been cleaning the windows for 2.5 years and today the weirdess thing happened.

The lady came out and said I have been speaking to my friends and you are seriously undercharging me.........

I have a big house and I will now be paying £100 from now on. "I really appreciate your hard work and do not want to loose you if you find a better paying client.."

At first I refused but she was adament..

The beers are on me down the pub tonight..

Nice one well done mate...had this happen to me but not on a £75 job

Will,

My take on this is, for her friends to know that you are undercharging her they must have similar sized houses if I was you I would be asking her to refer you to her friends - judging by your post she obviously likes you and I wouldn't see her having a problem doing this!
