I've been asked to spray weedkiller on some brick paving around a building I manage,.. the problem is that one of the ground floor tenants is a well known sandwich bar that operates 7 days a week and has tables & chairs out on the pavement during the day (they are taken inside at night).
Obviously I'm very concerned about spraying chems in an area where food is consumed, so I'm looking for a product that is safe for this purpose,... my plan would be to spray late one Saturday evening as they open late on Sunday, giving any chems maximum time to dissipate/dry in.
Can anyone recommend a suitable product?

If you've not got the certificates then don't get seen doing it, I use a wide roller. I need to get the certificates but to find 3 days is difficult - I've struggled to find 4 days over the winter to do my pest control

I checked into it and in Ireland I couldn't find any requirements for training/certification for spraying weedkiller! Stupid I know, but its sale of specific products that is restricted,.. if you can buy it you can spray it!
I've seen a few "Vinegar Based" weed-killers that claim to be safe,.. would I be right in assuming they aren't very long lasting & probably smell quite strongly?

hi there
irrespective of the training issue, you need to check your insurance cover as well.
i maybe wrong but i understood if you hand pump spray you dont need a licence, but if you are sprayinf from a back pack type then you do need a licence.
the other idea would be sto sub it out to a gardener with all the correct documents, and then make a margin on the work, then you can advertise the service to your other clients.

done a bit of research on the net & it seems a lot of ppl recommend salt solutions for brick paving. Easy, cheap & non-toxic,... no need to worry about training or certificates,...
its a high traffic area in the middle of town anyway, so rapid regrowth won't happen, it'll just get trampled!
What do you guys think? Is it a waste of time?
