So you canvassed ,
she said
no thanks, we already have a window cleaner
and started shutting the front door.
Even though she said no you kept on and on until she hired you and sacked her usual window cleaner of 15 years.
Can't see anything good about that :(

It`s a marketing thing. She said she helps out businesses.

Thats nothing, I got myself a job for £65 once and the previous guy was charging £8!!! But then I guess I do look and smell good!!!!!!!!! ;D

I am not sure who is the best marketer, her or you ;D
She had some very valid points ;) but it’s obvious she has been primed to write that.
I may call and tell her I add lavender essence to my water to make her house smell nice. Got to be worth an extra fiver ;D

First of all the lady didnt shut the door on me as i was giving my sales pitch, she indeed listened to it, took a business card then was just in the process of closing the door when she decided to ask a couple more questions.
Rather like a delayed decsion if you like.
I have had this happen a couple of times where by ive given the sales pitch then in some cases closed the garden gate behind me and the potential custy has re emeraged and shouted "By the way how much do you charge?" so nothing entirly new there.
This lady Trish is indeed an adviser on marketing and marketing skills.
She has a daily blog outside of her website, and wanted to use my situation as a good example of good marketing thats all, she was mearly giving out good free advice that when marketing/ canvassing it pays to apply yourself to good standards

She`s selling you short Trippy.
Going from £5 to £12 is an increase of 140% not 60%.

I can! Complacency loses out to professionalism!

Without meaning to sound confrontational, if someone is prepared to pay a £7 price increase then the old window cleaner couldn't exactly have been doing a 1st class job so fair play to Trippy I say
