Title: black spots on my block paving
Post by: Temple cleaning services on May 05, 2010, 08:48:06 pm
ive just cleaned my patio block paving with my new 13hp/15lpm/3600psi loncin pressure washer(no turbo nozzle) it came up really well and no probs with the amount of pressure, i was also using my northen tools fsc but i couldnt get the black pitted spots off unless i did it with the lance about 1cm away!! i also scrubbed in tfr and bleach with a brush 1st but had little effect, can any1 help? also can sum1 explain exactly wot a turbo nozzle does? (if theres different sizes etc) best regards mike.

The black spots i think you are talking about are a fungus which do take some shifting a pre treatment may work but i dont use chemicals so not sure what you would use.
The turbo nozzle is just a single stream of water but the nozzle rotates in such a way that it produces the similar effect your fsc does but with more pressure which is better for moving moss etc ,theres some examples on youtube.

The black spots are lichen and should have come of with the bleach if allowed to dwell long enough, they will come off easier with the turbo but may not be 100%. The turbo nozzle is merely a oscilating pencil jet and for your machine you will need a 0.4 nozzle - I'd also get a 1/4" quick release set up so you can chop and change as you wish
