Had a call form letting agent. They suspect one of their properties has a carpet contaminated with cat pee. Not seen job as yet so haven't done any ph tests or anything. Never had any joy with cat urine. Any one have a product that'll do the job..........apart from a match.

Prochen Urine Neutaliser.
If its still fresh and wet.
Blot up as much as possible if still wet. Apply Urine Neutraliser and blot. For old stains apply Fibre & Fabric Rinse HOT solution, and extract. Repeat 2 to 3 times. Apply Urine Neutraliser and leave to dry.Urine stains may cause permanent dye removal and may damage wool or nylon.
If its old, I would just use the urine neutraliser with fibre rinse but also add odour fresh.
Warn customer permenant damage possible and protect yourself as you may not get payment if you promise to remove a stain that causes permentant damage.

if it's cat pee then there is a chance that it's not a case of an unsightly mess but an odour issue. That'll usually mean lifting the carpet and inspecting how bad the underlay is.
If that's where the problem is then I suggest you walk as the problem will only be resolved once the underlay is replaced and i would suspect the landlord would then simply bite the bullet and change the carpet at the same time. (Or go laminate.)

PS Apart from that I would concur with Pristine about the theory of cleaning a urinated carpet where the issue is in the face pile.

Going to see the job first thing on Thursday. Not sure it is cat pee yet. Normally I don't even try to remove it. Last time was on an expensive 6 mth old carpet, cleaned the face and back but still couldn't remove the stuff. Question was more out of hope than experience. Agent didn't even know what type the carpet is so a visit is a must.
Must be the day for the good stuff to come in. Had another call from a landord who's had an ex tenant stripping an old motorbike down in one of the bedrooms; oil every where apparently, "oh, and by the way, he also had a new puppy which wasn't house trained". Happy days ::)

IMO if the problem is in the carpet pile and not the backing (like the doc said) DONT USE prochem products! They are so not powerful enough.
Use UCT from ChemSpec (Urine Contamination Treatment) on areas that you now are contaminated with pee, and use Kill Odour Plus to spray the rest of the room.
As for staining, use very hot Spray and Go (basicly sod met), again from ChemSpec then rinse. Cat pee is the hardest of the pee's to get out i find...

Quick up-date. Turned out not to be cat pee at all; good old vanish marks. Making those marks "vanish" will be a hell of alot simpler ;D
