Can anyone give me some idea fo the best vacuums for Builders Cleans
I have gone through Henrys , James ,Premier and others
HELP PLEASE!!

I've never done a builders clean but we do look after a large Builders Merchants which gets pretty grubby.
We use and Alto (part of Nilfisk) dust extraction machine which is very effective.
It can be used with or without bags and has a reverse action so can blow dust from the filters. It's a lot more robust than a vacuum cleaner.

we have teams on building sites every day, we use a numatic nvm 200 i think , its the commercial one above the henry,
they get bashed around, and beaten up, dropped down stairs, aqnd thrown in the back of vans, for the money i dont think you can beat them, they eat bits of plaster, brick everything.
so personally i would stick with them.
we are going to change all of them over to 110v in the near future, and then put a generator into each van, to be totally self sufficient on site when needed.

Hi Simon,
I have to agree with Martin, for builders cleans the numatic Henry or nvm 200 takes a lot of beating, not only are they good value for money but also powerful and rugged enough to cope with all the brick rubble you can throw at them.
What is causing them to break down? The one thing you must take care of is making sure all the filters are cleaned regularly, otherwise the motors will burn out quicker with all the extra strain imposed on them. This would be the same no matter what vacuum you use.

Got to echo Martin's and Derek's thoughts entirely. For price and suitability, they cannot be beaten. One word of warning, never use them on builders cleans without a bag!

Hi all
We used the Numatic NNV200 on our sites, infact had 4 of them. However, using the bags we found they always split on us, because of the debris flying into them. Once the bags split, the fine dust would then choke up the filter eliment before the motor, thus reducing the suck!!
Done my head in with the staff complaining that the machines wouldn't even suck the dust up of the floor.
We have now gone to a Numatic WV570-2 which has twin motors, a much wider circumference hose assembly, which vacuums up larger pieces of debris, plaster ect without getting blocked up. Only thing is, it costs around £400 with the VAT and it is a tad on the heavy side. But at least the complaints have gone and it does a chuffing good job on the floors.
