Hi there, I normally loiter about on the window cleaning side of CIU, but I've got a question about carpets so I thought I'd pop over here.
I'm looking for some advice on the best product for spot cleaning a loop pile carpet. We've just got some little sections that could do with being spruced up and rather than buy over-priced (I'm guessing) supermarket products, we'd like to use "pro" products. Any suggestions?
Cheers

hi ken you may have hit a brick wall here, let me xplain.
when removing spots or stains 90% of the job is identifying what may have caused them. then you choose the appropriate spotter for the job, the list is long and endless and not as simple as you may think. also when treating a spot its possible to make it worse as well as better. sorry to make it sound complicated but it can be.

You need a machine to extract and avoid resoiling / problems etc.
Post for a profesional to do it for you ;)

Do a trade with a local CC. Clean their windows, they'll remove your spots ;D

+ £50 ;D

Sorry Derek, I'm not paying £50 to get the windows cleaned ;)

I think most people assume getting their carpets cleaned is going to be expensive....If you compare it to other services you'll probably find that actually, having your carpets cleaned is reasonably priced in most cases.... If it seems cheap though, be warned, they probably aren't experienced and certainly won't be insured... And if they turn up with a Rug Doctor.... Laugh at them and tell them to get lost ;D
If you bought the correct chemicals you needed it would probably cost more than letting a professional do the job! Chems aren't cheap and they don't do a "One size fits all!"...... More's the pity ::)

The professional chems are sold in sizes too big for domestic use , as has been said before , do a trade .
I am desperate for a gutter /fascia clean at my house , and would willingly clean a lounge carpet in exchange .
Any Bournemouth Window cleaners?

Nice one Jason. I have a guy who services our boiler every year. Last November he was here most of one Sunday doing a complete strip down and repair for us. I clean their carpets for them every year in return, and the odd spot if needs be.

I also do the same as i get my bike servised and also the car and do his carpets in return couple of times a year..
Got my gutters cleaned out also my windows and i do his carpets in return :)
