Got my biggest tip yesterday...£15
Felt a little guilty tho, cos the guy was actually unemployed...but he insisted I take it ! :-[
Kind of restores your faith in human nature. I often find that the biggest "tippers" are the ones who've got nowt !

Last year went to a job where I knew the guy worked for Hewlit Packard as a printing guy.
At the time, I was having problems printing 180 gms postcards on my b&w laser printer. They would not go through the printer.
It was a project where I wanted to print reminders on postcards rather than sending envelopes.
I asked his advice and he said....heres a HP colour laser printer in my garage...you can have it, it's full of toner and there is a box full of toner you can have with it!
The printer is bloody huge, but it's the best tip I ever had. With the toner it's worth hundreds.
It will last me a couple of years and then it goes to the dump unless I find cheap toner off ebay ;D

Do work for a lady in Ascot (her husband owns 800 race horses) , get £200 tip at christmas and while were there she usualy asks us to do various other things like move a couple of large plant pots and get tips of £40 each.
-
a few £20s, £50 once. Mostly just £5s tho. Also lots of bottles of alcohol and a playstaion 2 once too :)
A very successful businessman told me once that if you dont get tipped its because you have priced just right i.e. your wheren't too cheap in thier eyes.

Very interesting reading, thankyou ;D From your friendly local tax man :o
-
no one said they weren't declaring it adi.
-
Wasn't suggesting they weren't Derek. Had a conversation with the girl who cut's my hair a few years ago during which she complained, "The tax office assume a certain level of tips and tax her accordingly". If she cannot prove a lower level of tips she has to pay the tax.
I spent 30 years working in the agricultural industry. Common practice used to be that when an animal was sold the seller would pay 'luck money' to the purchaser. The revenue then started to tax farmers for the 'luck money' as income. Result, end of luck money.
I also used to have a tied cottage as part of my job in agriculture. The revenue then started to call that a 'payment in kind' and, substantially, increased my tax.
My point being, give the revenue an inch and they'll take a fiver. How do you prove your not getting tip's?
-
I always price in units of £5 £45 £95 etc and generally find people
round it up to the next whole £50 £100 etc.

Did a job the other day for £122.00. Guess what I got.......£122.00, AND it was cash!

You all have very low cost and very high cost paid services if it is very low then there is no gurantee that they clean your home properly and if it is very high then you can't effort these services. So you have to search for a cleaning company which provide the best cleaning solution at low cost. On the internet there are many copanies which are providing best capet cleaning solution and also offering carpet cleaning franchise (http://www.carpet-cleaning-franchise.co.uk/) with lots of business opportunity.
Mark ,, How much did you pay the site sponsors for that ad ? , ,,,,,,O I see ,, that is how you can afford such a low cost franchise,,, I followed your company round Hull a couple of years ago drying out properties properly after you lol.
Most on here do not like opportunists, this though is funny and entertaining....
Multitacking staff..

It gets better ,,monthly royalties are only double Chem -Dry , the market leader with a brand established for 23 years, I think someone has been sniffing glue!

For a franchise company you'd think the grammar and spelling would
be spot on on their website.
Some of it reads like pidgin english.

John ,, the "web team" are clearly some indian people they know, 4 people all with degrees in computer this and that ,though later on it says they are based in Skelmersdale, no offence to those from there, though Skelmersdale , is a pretty rough little town.
The website almost reads like a 419 scam
-
Don't worry Mark.
Jasonl is someone who bullies people and tries to be little them at every opportunity.
Funny really how he states he is so good at everything and is loaded but still has to make the odd delivery to get some extra money.

Please show me a post where I make any claim as to my wealth?
This past year I have struggled, financially. Any one who knows me will know that I was ripped off for a serious amount of cash last year, I have had an offer in from this person, though I am still pursuing legal channels I just do not like reading BS that people post on here , about things they clearly have no experience of , where I know about something through seeing and doing , I will comment on it ,, that is what a forum is for is it not ?
I have done some deliveries to maximise profit I found it fun and easy , the problem with that is??
If pointing out that Mark was advertising, and that his offering was amusing ,is bullying, then yes I am a bully. I am sure a moderator will pull my post if it is against rules.
-
anyone who has a cheap shot at advertising for free on here deserves everything thrown at him. especially on there first post, (was it?)
bare faced cheek if you ask me, can't believe someone is sticking up for it,
and its been deleted by the mods so that says it all.
good on ya jase ;)
should be banned, kev was and at least he gave a lot back to the forum.
bring back kev loomes,
see ya end of may fella.

He is wrong about not being VAT registered until you have 2 vans.
If he is registered therefore you have to be registered as he is charging you the VAT on the accounts.
-
1 van 2 vans, 5 vans, makes no diff, you turn over 68k you have to registar, its the law, sounds like he's saying if you have 1 van but turn over more than 68k, keep it under ya hat.

What a cheap shot >:( I take my hat off to anyone who makes any move to provide for their families and it was decent of J to let us know how he was making an extra few quid!

Is this considered a tip?
I charged £80 she cried and then said £60 I said no chance and she then said ok £70 I said no chance and then she played violin with my heart so I said ok £70.00 in a very reluctant way. The at the end of the job she couldn't believe the result and paid me £80.00
Does that tenner count as tip?
If not, well, I don't get tips I just local authority organisations that are taking over 90 days to pay me.
Debt collectors this week for a few of them.
