This is to gauge how the window cleaners on CIU feel about the big debate.
I`ve limited it to the 3 main parties but how will you vote?
We`ve had all the talk, debates, attacks, counter attacks and now it`s time for the chat to stop and to see who should come out on top.
So please vote and tell us which system Dazmond should go for.

A quick update on the voting, I feel like Peter Snow.
Van well on top..... due to votes from the affluent South.....most Northerners are still in bed.....no votes for b`pack yet as no sign of the tightwad Jocks....

I use both van and backpack ;D ;D ;D

I've voted van, but at the moment I've only got a backpack. But for compact work I can't think how a van (with a backpack for some jobs) wouldn't be the best option. Fill tank up night before and you're just pulling out your hose when you get to you're job. No topping up from barells every house or two.

Trad

van mount and will be adding backpack soon

backback pr with your back problem giving you grief???
i used to use one but now the odd job where one would be easier i just pull out loads of hose to get to the work as it only takes 20 secs to wind in 100m when i use my cordless drill with a 22mm deep reach socket
it still works out less aggro than lifting, filling, charging, and fannying around with a back pack. and because you need a pole hose dragging about with you its still possible to get the odd snagging.

backpack but if i had commercial work i would
want van mount too :)

I did 3 houses today with my backpack and the same 3 with a van mount, thanks again Window Washers!! much easier with the van I have to say. Run the hose out, turn on the pole tap and away :o For the moment though it's backpack all the way ::)

that all depends onthe work you have,3 house nice easy access
you are probably right.
aint quite the same on town houses with access evry three houses
gates walls bikes toys and plant pots inthe way
i can clean 3 semis with one fill on a backpack there is no way
any hose pulling is quicker than i am with my pack.i sling over
one shoulder and simply walk through any access

the straps broke on mine on day one. A combination of both seems the ideal.

backpack all the way for me, nothing beats it, only drawback is having to refill, it only takes 30 seconds no big deal ::)

I just voted trolley because it was equal with the back pack and I don't think the backpack even warrants a mention in the poll. Yes lots of people use them, but for me it is all about getting the work done in the shortest possible time, whether to make more money per hour, or to have more time off work.
Now before all the backpack users get on their high horse, I want to exclude the people who have a real system and use a backpack to clean not easily accessible areas, as they can be handy for that. For people with a backpack as their only system, my advice would be get a real system, turn the water up, and work faster. No you won't be using more water, you just won't be hanging around waiting on enough water to clean the glass.
