Title: Smaller van ???

hi
Im thinking of upgrading my van to a newer model,currently got a vauxhall movano (transit sized) but not sure if something smaller would do.
What do you other pressure washing guys use and how much space do you have when loaded with washer,fsc,pipes etc  ???

I started out with a Berlingo but far to small now have a Lwb vito with a 900l tank but even that can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes!!!

What ever you do make sure you dont go over weight. Always find out what the payload is. This is completely different to the gross vehicle weight.

I have seen a few people out there that are mega overweight. VOSA and the police are really hot on it at the moment.

Have you ever been weighed ? I have'nt and I'm right near a vosa and HMRC depot. I don't think you get weighed unless you look loaded up. I have bigger springs on the back and dos'nt move with a 1.2t jetter, 400ltr of water and all the rest of the kit, I also carry the pressure washer and when I dung it out will make room for the hot box. I'd personally say that a smaller van is rarely a good idea,... I started with a pug partner and quickly moved up to a Boxer,.. I even find the boxer too small now! I'm looking at the MWB or LWB on next time.

I have a transit connect high roof LWB and on the odd occasions when i have to carry my gutter vac and PW kit together it is very tight a lot of moving stuff around to get to other stuff and as i also cover pest control it can be a squeeze some days.
I want to fit a 500ltr baffled tank but if i do this i will have to organize my work better i will without doubt upgrade to a bigger van as soon as funds permit.

Space and payload are the main considerations. I started with a Berlingo van and within an hour of getting it, I realised that it was too small for some jobs. On the plus side, it does fit in a garage and is locked away each night.
