Title: Wondering what to charge for a 700sq patio
Post by: britishwill on April 29, 2010, 08:08:45 pm
Evening guys

One of my clients has literally a 700sq metre patio!

I am wondering what to charge for this as its way bigger than I have cleaned before. Has anyone cleaned something that size before and how long did it take you?

Thanks so much in advance, I am just worried I am going to under charge....

Will

I used to do a little bit of pressure washing and used to charge £2.50 a metre (I think!?) ..At that rate the customer could buy a top quality washer and do it himself and still have some change for a weekend away with the Mrs!!!

I charge £4 per square metre. (so I would be charging them £2,100)
700 square metres is huge, thats like 10 metres by 70 metres.
you sure its not square feet?

Hi Matt

Believe it or not its just over that!

This client is seriously loaded. I double checked it. The patio goes round the pool then there is a 11 x 39 metre higher patio!

What type of surface is it, flags, block paving?

What power is your machine(hp)? Do you have a turbo nozzle?
If's powerfull enough, I'd thinkabout getting a rotary surface cleaner

Will, the average price per square metre around here in Essex is £4, you could go with £3.
Before anyone states my last post was wrong with the figure it should of read £2,800 as I charge £4 per sqaure metre and not £3 lol
If you were to get it, get a high pressure high flow rate petrol washer and also get a turbo nozzle and wirl-a-way. the wirl-a-way stops all the splashing and doesnt leave any way near as much mess.

I'd also factor in any re-pointing that may need doing if so buy a pointing gun off ebay, they speed the job up at least fivefold. :)

I think with it being 700 sq metres you would reduce your price thats where i came up with the £1500!
