Packed up my Smax to send to Gardiners this morning and have just got back (soaked) from using a fibreglass xtel :o My god it's like using a bamboo cane!
I haven't used a fibreglass pole for over two years now and couldn't believe the difference. Totally unbalanced and sooo whippy. A stiff carbon pole gives you so much more power at the brush head.

Dave , you dont want it back do you???? :o
-
Why, don't you want it?
-
No Dave I love it.....you are quite welcome to borrow it tho if you fancy a trip to Poole?
I can manage with the old one for a week or so...(serious offer ) ;D
-
:) Thanks dave but it should only be for a few days whilst they check the wear issues out. It's got to the point where the clamp won't hold the section without spinning and is way too tight on the rest of the shaft so off to Gardiners it's gone. I'm gonna miss it though. :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
What a pain Dave! I hope you get it back soon and the offers there if you need it.
Cheers

you dont reckon much on me gettin a 20ft f/g extel pole as my first pole then dave?!! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
i have been using an 18ft unger teleplus trad pole for years though!so the xtel might feel great to me!
i will prob go for the 18ft brodex hydra alloy then as my first pole and get a SLX when/if they come back in stock!!
-
What you don't have you don't miss. The glassfibre xtel feels great - nice and light and easy to use. I have the twenty foot one. If you buy an slx I guarantee the xtel will never come out of the van again.
-
so are u saying dave the xtel will be ok as a first pole for standard work?
-
Yes it's a fine pole. You get what you pay for though. The Slx is ram rod stiff whilst the xtel is like a wet piece of spaghetti in comparison but it's nice and light. If you can afford it and can wait then buy the longest Slx or Smax you can afford then you have no need for any other pole - they can be used all day long and can have sections added or removed in seconds.

Hey Dave, you sound just like macmac used to! ;D ;D

I remember him - always banging on about a facelift pole, trying to get me to buy one. Glad I didn't!
He wasn't a bad lad really, had some good advice as it turned out. Wonder what ever happened to him? Probably got banned for life. ;D

i rekon that rather than pay the money for a 18 ft xtel or brodex pole we'll be better buying a couple of harris poles .they are so light ans so cheap.you just can't beat them
