HERBIE: you can have it wired up to be charged by your alternator as you drive about , using an 85amp lesiure battery you will never run out of juice again.

i have a powerstation thingy from maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=37385&&source=14&doy=15m8 will last all day or there is one called jumpstart from argos. personally i would want to risk running my vans battery down because if you dont go on a long run the battery wont get chance to recharge. others may disagree and run from there van battery no probs but it could be a long walk to get a new battery if you run it down.
-
twt :you dont run wfp off your vans/car battery you have a leisure battery fitted as well.a lesuire battery will run all day no problem.

GAZA WHERE DO YOU PUT THE LEISURE BATTERY AND HOW DO YOU GET CHARGE INTO IT THANKS
-
SORRY GAZA I DID NOT READ YOUR FIRST POST VERY WELL ARE THESE LEISURE BATTERYS JUST A CAR BATTERY
-
WELL GRAHAM MINE 85 AMP AND FITTED BY SOMEONE WHO KNOWS MORE ABOUT WFP THAN ME AND YOU ;D
the alternator charges your car/van battery 1st then switches to your van mounted {in the back near the storage tank] via a relay. the car battery is used for short heavy demands
[starting engine] a leisure battery gives constant power for long periods{dont try to use the power of the leisure battery to start your car lads[ yes it works but puts a very heavy load on to it which its not designed to do]

We have 2 ordinery van batteries installed in the engine with the wfp pump run from the 2nd. It was installed by our van manufacturers (LDV) who told us that the each battery will keep the other fully charged whilst supplying the pump. They are then both topped up when the van is in normal use.
I have never been let down or had a flat battery in 6 years.
We do have a leasure battery to operate our omnitrolley. Again no probs here. We only have to charge it about once a week and use it on all windows daily (residential and/or commercial) if the van is parked too far away.

I run a 100 amp/hr and a 85 amp/hr
The 100 lasts for about 4 days then put it on charge over night (may do 5 days but don't want to push luck,
the 85 last's for about 3 to 4 days then again on charge over night, Leisure batteries are a must as they are designed to run flat without damaging the battery, keep running a normal battry flat and its cream crackerd very fast..
Then if I happen to run out of power I have a cig lighter adapter to give me a bit of power to finnish the day (leave engine running though, charging leisure battery from vehicle ids not really an option for me as my round is packed within a 5 to 6 mile radus...

WHERE DO YOU GET THESE LEISURE BATTERIES FROM AND HOW MUCH THANKS
-
Ive never used anything other than the van battery all day long not gone flat yet.
I think if your battery is going flat from using your WFP its most likley on its way out anyway.
Has anyone ever made a good battery flat by using it to power there WFP?
