Title: Scratched a window with wfp. Removing scratch.

But not by cleaning it. I put the pole up against the frame, brush facing up. I saw a tangle in the hose, untangled it, and pole fell down, aluminium gooseneck just caught the window pane, left a small scratch. Really silly.

Was honest to the customer, customer was fine about it, said she wouldn't loose sleep over it.

This is one of my best customers, and promised her I would fix it.

Now, I've heard of the toothpaste job, but not too sure about that. It's not a deep scratch, my nail doesn't catch on it.

Can I use a car screen repair kit for it? Or are there specialised kits on the market? Quick google didn't come up with much.

I was in a jewellers once and they used that stuff on a scratch on a gold ring and it removed that so it might be worth a shout at that price

Be aware this stuff might change the glass ie it might make it slightly concave and distort the view through it.

colgate toothpaste is the best blob it on and polish with paper in circular motion wash off with water and then buff with microfibre! ;D

If it's on patio doors you are in deep doodoo.

Patio doors are reinforced glass and cannot be polished smooth.

I know this from experience.

£330 + VAT new patio door. :'(

Hi Tim, as i have said in a previous topic we remove scratches professionally, there is a DIY kit i have found online and it uses the same principle as our professional kit.   http://www.glassscratchrepair.co.uk/

When using this kit you should be able to remove most light to medium scratches, just be careful to keep the polishing pad flat to the glass and it should remove the type of damage you are talking about.
