Morning all,
Am thinking of purchasing a Clarke pump to run my softwash solution through. Only thing is it’s 240v. What’s the laws about using 240v at a clients house? Would insurance payout if they knew I was using 240v and not 110v at customers houses?
I know building sites it’s the law to use 110v.
If I was to use a step transformer would this Reduce pressure output?
Thanks

Can’t answer for sure but I know multiple trademens that use 240v at people homes. 1000s of carpet cleaners work every day in peoples homes and I don’t think one of them use 110v
Now I think about it, 240v must be totally legal in people’s homes, Chemdry International a multimillion pound organisation who puts 100s of workers in peoples homes uses 240v and they will have looked into the legalities of the doing so

Building sites may restrict you to 110 on h&s grounds - but not illegal

The whole 110 volt thing is a bit of a scam. H&S (HSE ) state that WHERE POSSIBLE 110 volt power should be used on site over 240 volt. What they fail to say is, the advice goes further and says where possible Cordless should be used as a preference over both 110 volt or 240 volt. As usual this has been misinterpreted and swung around to state only use 110 volt on site. Doesn’t anyone find it strange that this massive so called safety rule is not cited in any other EU countries?
Now the latest in GB is you are not allowed to sweep up on site as it causes dust ??? Now you have to vacuum only. The whole thing is like Brexit really just a money cow in my opinion.
