I arnt after getting one. And have lots of training lined up and reaserch to do before choosing a machine. Just thought I would ask whats the problem with them. On a review website of Rug Doctor hire. People that had hired them seemed to love the outcome. I hired one once and was rather impressed with the results. Ok one of the coffee stains didnt come out, and it was December so I nearly froze to death at night as I had to leave the windows open all night to help with drying.  It sure was loud, heavy and slow going. But isnt that a sign of quality. Never seen a Puzzi so someone will have to tell me about them.  I am sure the training will help me learn the truth about quality and crap.

you've just answered your own question, would you pay a professional to be put through that?

My Rug Doctor blew up on me the other day  I was working 5 floors up in a bed sit.

Hired a puzi and it had no noticiable suck but the waste tank was full when I finished.

recovery rate is also good on Rug Doctor , but I would only use it for parts i cannot reach

A truckmount is    loud, heavy and FAST going - that is a sign of quality.  and the crpets will be dry in hours, not the next day - another sign of quality.

Why would a client pay you to use a Rug Doctor when they can go to B&Q and hire one themselves and cost less then you.
Clients want something different for their money.

Whens your course? You wont see a Rug Doctor in sight.

Its in a couple of weeks at cleansmart in nottingham. And I am out next with a chap named Roger who im very greatful to.  just asked about them 2 machines as confiration to stay away from stuff like that.  the link you gave me the other day to the machine on ebay looked like what I would be after. Still a while away from buying yet though. want to gain more knowledge 1st.

Hi very good courses at cleansmart i did both carpet and a upholstery i started off with a puzzi and still use one today.I have done a lot off work with it , Ive had no complaints a lot have had me back to other carpets in there homes and all have been very happy with the results.But i clean the way i was shown on the courses with good chemicals.
I am now looking at getting a better machine as the puzzi has paid for its a while ago still going to keep for flats etc . I'm looking at the prochem galaxy, listen to what they have to say on here its help me loads there a great bunch off people hope it all goes well for Jim as it has for me

Remember that client with all the computer gear?

I found out what he does. He's a professor working in a university and has done a lot of work (also commercially) developing computing equipment for people who are visually impaired.
What's really interesting is I have another client who is doing the same thing but coming from a different angle-and I don;t think they know about each other.
It's a small world, or a large world, depending upon how you look at it.

Don't quite know how I'm going to cope when work levels actually do pick up as the weather improves. (probably have to put my prices up again) -try and edge it up to what some of the big boys charge.

I've also just picked up some nice jobs over in Liverpool as well. Not too sure how I'll deal with all the travelling.

 Jim the cleansmart 2 days is a really good start derek is brill but a you will
try a 3vac airflex on the cource night & day with the machines you mention
minimmum  start up twin vac 120psi if you have a small budget look on ebay
for one with a hand tool & upholstery tool included get a good vac and aggitator
ask derek for advive on chems and essentials  dont forget marketing & transport

Friday night spelling and grammar should never be confused with normal conversation !!!!!!!!!!!!You're correct about spelling and grammer not being what it used to be but in many cases it's touching the wrong key when typing although in most cases the fault of a ruined education system which once led the world.

As you know the Irish and Northern Scots were Gaelic speakers which gradually gave way to Norse and Germanic influence resulting in Old Scots which still exists to some extent in the North East of Scotland which eventually became modern English elsewhere............

There was a forced emmigration of many thousands of Scots into Northern Ireland in the 1700's which I understand had a major effect in the introduction of the English language into Ireland.
