What your plans for 2014?
« on: November 23, 2013, 02:22:45 pm »
Anyone taken time to plan for next year?

Adding any new services, expansion, more time off etc?

For me it's going to be a year of more marketing and less on-site time (I hope)

What's every one else got planned?

Try and get some more time off, but doubt it.
Watch the world cup in some all inclusive hotel by the beach.
Market more, pressure washing and hard floors.
Train someone who works for me to handle the domestic and commercial cleaning side of the business.

......plus a million other things!!!

By the way Jamie, I got some DR Schutz Secura Matt Hard Sealer off you about two week ago, great product by the way, but I paid nearly double what the price was on your website, it was a phone order. I didn't question it at the time as I was rushing.

We will have 16 staff in the next couple of weeks, and at the moment I
manage all of them, including sick and holiday cover, price all jobs,
answer phone and emails, marketing, all carpet cleaning, invoicing as well as all the usual day to day problems that arise.
Need to

set in place all training to a set standatd,
Get more floating staff to cover sickness/holidays.
Sit back a bit and manage more without standards dropping.
Have more than 1 weekend off between March and Otober
Purchase a 5th van
get the pressure washing up and running for spring
Increase janitorial stock and sales locally

Other than that not much else  :D

Considering jacking in. My old boss has been trying to coax me back as production manager. 6 weeks hol, paid sick, decent dollar. My misses says no don't do it but I'm giving it some thought over next fortnight before he wants his answer.

I'm going to spend next year trying to understand my wife, could be a tough 2014.

Boards can be too addictive but it's a way of connecting with people in the same trade beats watching soaps.

Huge leaflet drops. Have to change gear now and move more into the CC side and drop the window licking cleaning completely by 2015.
