Hi all,

I run a cleaning company in Essex. I've just finished building this website (http://www.ukclean.com) please register and tell me what you think. I've not finished the login area yet so please let me know what you think should/could be in there?

Your comments good or bad are welcome.

Thank you,

Diane

Sorry about this but the basic colour lends itself more to a dating website especially with the Yahoo banner, the pics are good but why have they been pushed onto the side of the page ie pictures are attention grabbing items and these look like they are sliding off the page.
The English flag is not a good idea when trying to promote a company on a multi-national basis.

Didnt go any further  :)

Yes the first thing that crossed my mind was a dating agency, I to didn't go any further,

the  reason for this,is mabe a few guy's on here, may be a bit weary of free listings, being hounded for money and phone calls from other free listing site's, ie ufindus.com.  This was the reason I didn't list.

If you could make it a bit clearer for us in a thread, then I think you will get more to register.

sorry Dia for being blunt, but as the old saying goes once bitten twice shy.

Hi Jeff,

The reason I’m doing this is because if you list with yell.com/tompsons local it cost you x amount of pounds not a lot of people will pay this.
If you list with ukclean it will NOT cost you a penny. I will not be calling you or anyone else for payment for using this site.
If it works for you all well and good if not you have not lost anything.

Hi Dia

Thanks for making it more clearer for us,

I will now register on your site, I hope you don't think I was being blunt, but the company I mentioned were hounding some of the guy's on here and still are,
It was thanks to some of the guy's on here, that made me aware of what to expect from them.

One thing I want to ask you is that I have a customer who runs a cleaning company, but it is for things like stone work and she uses a low pressure sand blasting machine, and not a hight pressure washer, the type of machine she uses does not damage soft stone, were high pressure can, if we could find a listing section or you could make one I'm sure she will register too.
Many thanks for your reply

hi diane
the layout is ok and easy to use however the 2 things i personally did not like were

pink as others have said it looks like udate or simular

and as much as i support england i think the flashing england flag makes it lose the professional look

having said all that i did register

Hi Dia,

Please excuse me for being suspicious, but what do you get out of this?

Kind regards

Nothing, why should people have to pay hundreds of pounds to advertise. That's the experience I've had.

Kind regards,

Diane

Hi Diane,

Are you saying that you have gone to the time and expense of setting up a web site for us to advertise on free of charge without making something yourself. Theres no such thing has a free lunch.

Theres got to be something in it for you.

Cheers Mark.

Hi Mark,

I have had this website for a couple of years, but whats the point of only having my details listed on there.

It doesn't cost me much in terms of annual maintenance so why not offer it to other companies to list their details.

I'm up for the free lunch if you are?

Regards,

Diane :)

Hi all,

Just a thought on the site design, i like the colours used because most customers searching for wc, carpet cleaners etc will probably be femail from that perspective the site is definately feminine in design so works on that level. On a negative note there is big empty space at the bottom of homepage which needs filling.

Cheers Mark.

Hi,

As some of the other guys have said the colour could do with changing, but apart from that I like it. If you could add wheelie bin cleaning as a cleaning type I would link & register with you.
