Title: Carpet Browning
Post by: DH on September 06, 2017, 06:55:49 pm
Hi Guys,
A lady has just rang me up. She rented a Rug Dr and it sounds like it has over wet the carpet resulting in what sounds like browning?
I have never dealt with browning but, I remember being told about it on the Prochem Carpet Cleaning Course (I'm digging out my notes.). I know Prochem do a number of products to treat it such as BP.
I just wanted to ask you guys for any advice? Im going to look at the job tomorrow.
Thanks :)

You can use Prochem Browning Perscrption.

Feint browning can sometimes come out but in many cases it won't.

I would just say to the customer it is probably permanent but you can clean and treat the carpet with zero guarantee. This is what you should say on the phone before going to visit.

There are a couple of ways using Prochem products
1 is using Browning prescription mixed with fiber shampoo..
2 is to use Prochem Fibrebuff, oxibrite and fiber shampoo combined, applied and left to dry in.
I have had limited success using this.

There is also chemspec browning treatment.

Thanks Robin, I will be going with option 1 if I take it on.
