I was offered one the other day by my bank, £40 per month plus 3-4% per transaction. Good I think if you were doing a full house clean, they could pay with plastic instead of finding cash.

sorry i mean a minimun charge per transaction.  if its just 4% then on a typical £10 house that's just 4 pence.

they charge us something like 30p per cheque, and that doesnt include my own staff costs with the paperwork and running them down the bank.  so 4% is much better, even with the machine rent.

One fixed at home?

Why not use paypal, get them to ring you and fill in the details to pay yourself, its like 20p per transaction + 3.4% and no monthly fees.

£20 on PayPal plus transaction fees gets you the offline payment option, which there are apps for iPhone I believe.

But is it worth it, wouldn't that money look nice in your pocket?

I think the Taxipay scheme offers better value than the bank schemes.

its fixed so i dont have to go and collect. But the portable one was £25 a month. you can really haggle with them i halved there original quote and didnt want to pay a percentage which is how i got the 10p. The snag is if you dont make a certain amount of transactions you have to pay an extra £16
