Diy advice on Porcelain

What advice do you give customers to maintain a polished porcelain floor.

Ive one in my kitchen and spilt a tin of coke on it last night.  Decided to have a play so left it until this morning.

So i used a steam mop with just water and dried. Still sticky.

Then used a microfibre mop with a touch of washing up liquid. Better but still tacky.

Then mopped with all for stone heavy duty. Rinsed with a clean mop and then rinsed with a neutriliser.  I use these chems in my business.

Grout is still dirty but expected that.  Im going to colour seal it someday.

However the floor is now hazy.  If i buff it with a microfibre cloth its gone and looks great.

So how would you advise a customer re the haze.  Buffing with a cloth on hands and knees isnt an option they want to hear.

Did i go wrong somewhere during the clean?

Also whats your advice on grout for DIY?

Thanks
Mark

So no one tells their customers how to maintain their floors then?

We do because we offer the client a Floorcare Maintenance Plan after any clean or restoration.  However, the mistake is made at the fixing stage as very few tilers or stone fixers tell their clients how to maintain the floor.

Hi Mark,  We promote a step back mopping system which is ideal for cleaning polished porcelain tiles, we use waffle microfiber floor cloths which are far more effective than traditional type microfiber mop pads and can be used with just water to maintain porcelain tiles. for deep cleaning grout lines we recommend a heavy duty degreaser which is non-caustic and non-corrosive, dilute the solution 5-1 then scrub the grout lines with your grout brush, give me a call if you want Mark let me know what you are using and i will be happy to gives you more info.
