do people seriously buy water at these prices

600  =£30

so if you use say 200 L a day, inside 2 weeks you have spent more than you can buy a 100 GPD RO / DI unit for ? ? ? ?

i have helped guys setup RO's who live in flats, so thats not a excuse either

why would it be rip of prices, £30 pound for a 1000ltrs of water when you can make£200 /£500 from it thats what i pay im on a water meter so some times its the best way i know  some one in poole dorset who is in the line of having a unit which has 6000 ltr unit that make 1000 ltrs a hour and its a running cost on the work we do and you can claim for it. ;D

NWH, are you telling me, that if for some reason you did not have any water for the day, you would not pay £30 and still work ??
I think there is a call for this in loads of places, but for the person selling it there would need to be another business that makes money daily as must imo would have there own ro ect. but for the emergancy I think it is great

could you be bothered selling water?

waiting on someone showing up so you can fill their tank before you go to work yourself - no thanks.

though to be fair, you did post on here about it, and you will have opinions

my opinion

at the prices you have mentioned , people will be better off buying a smallish RO / DI unit and it will pay for itself in 2 weeks ( at 200 L per day )

now you replied to my post, with a few points

start up costs, 100 quid for a RO / DI unit, its not going to break the bank

100 floor flat, fair call, i would hazard a guess that they are few and far between, i know on the DIY forum i helped some1 who lived in a 4th floor flat

dont know how to fit them, i dont buy this, they come with instructions and its very easy to understand, they even come with self cutting taps

dont want to bother, now this could be it, they might be happy with paying 30 quid every 2 or 3 days, but reading the above points, they are just wasting money

as you say though, who are we to ask, i would ask them and point them in the right direction, but thats because thats the type of guy i am,

if you can make that sort of money from them, fair enough, good on you

£30 a fill and say a minimum of 2 fills a week = £60 = £260 a month

I can't see them going for it.

600 litre a day for a 2 man team and ou have to pay £30

after the second day youve nearly paid for what a price of resin is.

a bag of resin lasts me no less than 6 weeks, thats using 2 live di vessel rotating round with a 3rd barrel  for pre tank filtering (3rd barel is resin that no longer brings water to 001ppm)

if i bought water it would cos me £600 in the time i use up a bag of resin.

but if you are saving more than £100 a week living in a flat rather than a house, then u are probly winning, on the way the ur business is spanding more but overall personal and business u are making saving.  that means uv spent money that the tax man would have = less tax =  more money for u

I would pay those prices in an emergency but not as a regular purchase.  With a tap TDS of around 200, I could get 1,000 litres for around £30s worth  of resin anyway.  Trouble is, it would take ages to fill the tank from the tap.  I know because I did have to do this for a  week when I had no RO.  I even connected up a di vessel to an outside tap at one house (with permission of course).  It was a messy week but I made some OKish money even though I had to spend a lot more on resin.
£30 for 1,000 litres might be OKish in Essex/Cambridge as a stopgap due to the high tap TDS but in my area, you might as well just get some resin vessels and make your own pure water if you have reasonable tap access.

I live on the south coast and pay £50 a calender month for unlimited water. On average I fill my 600ltr tank 3 times a week, 12-16 times a month which is 7200-9600 ltrs. The person who I get it off has around 10 customers and is making money from it. Good thing about it aswell is that its a brodex static system and comes out at 000 so your resin lasts a lot longer.

We also have our own keys to the unit so we can come and go whenever we wish and because the system is on a continuous ball-cock fill we have never been let down.
