Hi Lewis,

The 17ft Xtel is a very useable pole and remains one of the most popular poles on sale in the UK. I have just selected this pole/brush combo on our site and the total comes to £117.92 inc vat and delivery. So you need to do a bit of negotiating!

I've been using this pole for 12 months now. On it's last legs now though.
But because of the short lengths i have found it to be the best pole i have used so far.
I'm sure you will be happy with the pole. I dunno about the brush, but i would recommend getting one of those superlite dual trim brushes to go with it.
I had never really noticed much difference between brushes before, apart from adapting my technique, maybe. But for 95% of my domestic work, this is the perfect combination.

either you are up early lewis or you left your computer on all night.

This pole is the best lenght/make/price combo available. In other words out of all the poles availabe, including much dearer ones it is the best.

The reasons are its short usable length, low price and low weight. It wins in every catergory.

The only critisism is that these poles do wear. The main wear factors are getting the internal hose dirty which on going inside gets onto the pole inners and introduces grit between the pole sections; the end cap going and then splintering occuring when you bash the pole in confined spaces; and the clamps need re glueing after a hard bash.

The two main other chalengers for the title of best pole would be a home made harris because it's cheaper and the xls(at £400) because it's longer.

if you want to make the 17ft xtel last longer simply have the hose on the outside , mine was getting near the end of its life but when i switched the hose outside its now still going strong after 14 months regards alan

or fit a pole trrigger , no hose dragging on floor,

my 17 ft excell with trigger, quick lock adjustable goose neck, swivel and supalite double trim, for 95 % of my domestics it is unbeatable.  ;)
