so i have narrowed my new van down to these 2 contenders due to size and drive, comments pls

To me, based on my own experience I would go Connect above all van of this size.
Besides being a good van just look how they hold a good second price. The pugs have many electrical problems told me by my mechanic friend. Our Pug car has cost me a mint on the computer problems.Never again.

We just got the new model Peugeot Expert (think its from 66 plate on) and its awesome. We went for the professional plus model, its a bit more expensive but looks great, has a 1400kg payload so you can fit 1000 litre system in there. I've also got a Transit Custom Sport and although I love that van, with hindsight I would have got another expert, the van is neigh on as good and cost about £6000 less.

I would go for the new pug, the spec is perfect for a window cleaning van. They look mint too, like a blend of the old pug mixed with a transporter.
Definitely my choice for my next van, though my current van has only done 30k so have a few more years use out of it yet. By then they'll probably be a new model.

I agree with Matt rinsing at full tilt will always give good results as there is enough water on the glass to carry crud away. I too have done away with fan jets as they clog up too much and do create overspray. And with Vision it`s  clogging up too much.

Id go Pug, Ive got a mate with a transit connect and he hates it. tons of space and payload in the pug too.

ide like to get a expert as there is to side loading doors wich is handy but not shore if i could go smaller than a lwb vivaro as that is prity chocka with gear lol

which engine did you get?

For the expert I assume you're asking. We got the 2litre version, to be honest I wouldn't trust anything smaller for window cleaning where you're carrying significant weight.

the 2.0hdi is a cracking engine much beta than the 1.6hdi wich is gutless

Running  2 litre expert HDI and would have another one tomorrow if needed....the engines run for ever and no rusting.
Heard the 1.6 ones have an inherent problem...can't remember what it was.

i like my new connect and my old one.both are great IMO for a sole trader window cleaner with a 500L tank.still room for your other gear(as long as you havent got pressure washing gear,gutter vacs etc).pulls well and isnt too big for parking in tight spaces or driving onto customers driveways.

It must be the LWB version( L2 240) preferably with the 1.5 TDCI  120ps engine.payload is 936kg and poles fit in(25 ft SLX and XTREME 47)no probs without cutting into the bulkhead.
