£8k budget for van/pickup
« on: January 23, 2011, 04:32:26 pm »
Hi Guys, I want to get a new vehicle for work. The old Movano is starting to show it's age a bit and I would rather replace it before it becomes unreliable/expensive.
I have £7 to £8k to spend and am unsure which way to go. Before Christmas I thought about the Ford Ranger and a smaller tank, but I am used to a 1000 litre tank and lots of space. I never use more than 400 litres a day and plan to have a static tank at home to speed up the refilling process, so nipping home during the day will be possible if I get a smaller tank.
Got excited reading the "dream van" thread the other day, what would you go for? I do power washing and have a gutter vac too but could get a trailer for those jobs/equipment.
Any advice appreciated as always.

Can't see past a Defender 110. 750L tank. All good.

Cheers, I think the Sportline is outside the budget, and I did look at the Land Rover but couldn't find one. They were either falling apart or too expensive  :(

A 4x4 Mitsubishi Warrior, Toyota Hilux or Nissan Navara with a bedliner and hardtop cover for your WFP equipment and just get a towbar fitted to hook the trailer up for your Guttervac and Powerwashing gear.  :)

New shape scudo/expert/dispatch. 3 seats in front, plenty of room in back & you'll get an almost new minter for 8k. ;)
