What is the verdict on these gloves? Standard Sealskinz are rubbish IMO,.. the last pair I got didn't even last a week before they ripped & they were leaking by the end of the first day.

I switched to FOX technical gloves last year, but they now seem to be out of stock everywhere,.. so I need an alternative!

I want something waterproof, breathable, but still thin enough that they won't interfere with simple tasks like writing a ticket or getting van keys out of my pocket!

Winter is coming,.. time to prepare!

I am looking to get gloves myself; i only wear em in the cold but i am starting to realise, after 5 yrs wfp, i need for everyday

I've been thinking of some sort of fingerless water resistant gloves.

I think cycling gloves would fit the bill, and they have the added bonus of palm padding which would provide added comfort and protect against rep-strain-injury.

Here the link to seal skinz cycling range, this is full fingered glove and they do this in fingerless as well but i suppose your hands would get a bit wet with this version :

Fogot to say i don't have ultra tough seal skinz, only normal ones, lasted 3 winters though.

Just a pain taking gloves on and of to write out bills etc.

That's why looking at fingerless for everyday; but i will need full finger gloves in winter though

b&q have got some good gloves made by dewalt , they have the full glove and the fingerless .
they cost £5.98 a pair .

i can tell you that the seal skin cycling gloves are not waterproof one bit.


tested them 2weeks ago.5hrs of no-stop rain on a 70mile cycle ride.

can vouch for the showa gloves, we used them all winter, not too great when freezing, but for day to day use, they are quality. so cheap as well.

tried pola joka gloves, awesome glove, only for freezing conditions really, tried sealksinz, took them back after 1 day, useless.

the showa is a good compromise, plenty of grip, keeps the wind and rain out, flexible enough, just stick some latex ones underneath when very cold.

I hate wearing gloves for window cleaning but when it's bitterly cold they are a must. These gloves are superb in my opinion. I work with my brother and he wears these most days as the water and cleaning products dry out his hands. His pair are still going strong after almost a year. Don't think you'll be dissapointed.
