Rubber gym floor
« on: June 21, 2012, 04:39:09 pm »
We have a client who has one of those bouncy rubber gym floors. They've moved a lot of equipment out which has left some marking which they've asked to be cleaned. Not sure the best way to clean these? Has anyone got any experience of them please?

We have done a couple of these.  We used a Klindex Rocky Rotary Scrubber fitted with a soft nylon brush and Aqua Mix Heavy Duty Tile Cleaner diluted 4:1 in the tank then we simply rinsed with a pH Neutral cleaner with Anti Bacterial.  Be very prepared for a lot of dirt to come out you will be amazed.

Done loads of these. As Kevin says high alkaline and a brush. You need to break the body fat and salts from perspiration.

Trick is lots of chemical action but low on the agitation as it can scratch easily with polyprop brushes or floor pads. I have also found a mild acid cleaner may be needed to remove the last of the body fat after a good degreasing with a high alkaline.

A buff with a white pad afterwards or application of a tight coat of acrylic seal will help the colour bounce back.

Tadgh here we have a multi mop used in conjunction with our microcleaning mop pads

totally safe to use on rubber floors.
