Title: Hosepipe Ban
Post by: Kev Martin on June 29, 2012, 07:38:14 am
Yesterday as I sat in my office during two of the heaviest downpours of rain in quick succession I have seen for a long time I wondered where the Summer was! I then thought in reality we are on our way to Winter. After all the longest day has now passed and the nights are drawing in.

I opened the curtains in the bedroom this morning to another massive downpour and began to reflect.  Then I remembered the recent posts on here about the hosepipe ban!

Is it still in force?

Karl,

This is on Veolia site which I think you said you come under,

"The level of recharge achieved so far has not been sufficient to restore groundwater resources to normal levels, but has been sufficient to allow for a limited relaxation of the exceptions for businesses (please see below) affected by the drought, so we can help safeguard livelihoods.
UPDATE 13 JUNE
Any person whose business was in existence before 15 March 2012 and whose income is solely dependent on cleaning private motor-vehicles; walls or windows at domestic premises; paths or patios; or other artificial outdoor surfaces may now use a hosepipe for these purposes until further notice. These businesses were previously given a 3 month exception to consider how they might reduce their reliance on mains water until 4 July 2012, this deadline has been removed."

So nothing there about recycling water?

I've been rushed all year so far but the pressure washing has been quiet as it was during the last hose ban. They sent my letter out and recycling was outlined on there - the same as was sent to the car wash people.

She's doing the year ends at the moment - when she cheers up I'll ask her to dig it out
