Title: No more work
Post by: Small but perfectley formed on March 19, 2020, 06:38:05 am
Well it's happened we are in 14 days isolation.
Me and wife have had a bad cold for last 3 weeks on and off both still working then last night wife  got worse phoned 111 this morning at 5 am told to self isolate and keep get separate from us.
Most of my customers are pensioners so would hate to risk there lives.
She may have picked this up from school she cleans in a high school.

Good on you for following the guidelines mate. Let’s hope that others do the same without jeopardising the more vulnerable amongst us. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Is there no external cleaning work at all  that you can go out in your van solo and do without needing contacting with anyone else  pressure washing, conservatory deep/treatment cleans etc? providing you want/feel well enough to work of course.

We did a large domestic pressure wash & hypo treatment yesterday didn't see or have any contact with the customer, invoiced by email yesterday evening funds have been transferred into our business account this morning I notice.

Anyway hope it turns out to be just a worsening cold and not CV for you both and I wish you a speedy recovery.

Do you have any window cleaning mates with the capacity to take on some sub contract work? you'll have some money coming in from your round from this and perhaps keeping a mate busy who has the time to fill his working day.???

If I get it I’m pretty much a dead man walking anyway.
I’m also the type that has more money going out than coming in , I will be screwed if I get ill, but they can’t take what I don’t have can they .
I can’t see any bailiff wanting to come in my house can you  ;D

Just get better and worry later , you can’t spend it if you are dead .
It’s also logged with 111 now , you will get shafted if it comes to light you have knowingly infected others

Exactly!  The government guidlines are to self isolate, which does not mean lock your doors n windows and avoid all humans  ;D
They are allowed out but try and keep it to a minimum and be mindful of the 2m rule.    Also ones can go and visit their elderly family, just not all at the same time and again be mindful of the 2m rule and personal hygiene.  (As explained on a question n answer with a specialist on the bbc radio news a couple of days ago).

My work doesnt require human contact and when quoting I stay 2 m away as well. No i dont have it, nor my household but I aint taking the chance.  I shop at quieter hours with minimal people inside and yes I sanitize as soon as im back in my car.
I have enough on with all i am juggling (perhaps like most), i wont put anyone else at risk but i will try n work to the best of my ability as we aint going to get help financially are we, in on fairness.

Lol, i have a cough, its been long term and it also flares up due to a reflux thing I have as well.  You should see people look, so I try as I do, to put their mind at ease and simply say its a long term cough I have. Their horrid looks go away and they move on with their business as usual.  Yes i follow the guidlines for coughing and more

I’m afraid you’re wrong Nathan. What you are describing is social distancing. There’s a difference between social distancing and self isolating.

If there is more than 1 person in the household, it’s 14 days.

There’s a lot of misinformation on here today. If people are not upto date with the current advice, it’s best not to pass comment.

If one person in household of more than one has it then it’s 7 days for them & 14 days for the others in the household. That was my understanding when i looked on government site ???(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1584632455_5BBB110B-0408-45AB-BCB8-580154055200.png)

Lockdown isn't actually going to mean exactly that I think.

There's lots of reasons people need to go out. The dog needs walking. Horses need their stables cleaning and clearing, which may well involve a trip; farmers will be out and about,  There'll be bin men, AA and RAC. Petrol stations will be open, food shops and pharmacies will be open, so will docs and hospitals. Gas board, water board, telephone supply companies. There'll be a lot of companies and businesses out and about, it won't be quite as black and white as we might be thinking.

Ive been away for about the last 5 years when we’ve qualified for the Nationals for outdoor bowls at Leamington Spa a couple of the blokes insisted we went to Weatherspoons, bloody awful places.
I also popped into one of those Toby Carvery places by mistake once and had something to eat as I was starving, worse than school dinners.

I give up  :o
Boris the clown isn’t even shutting pubs bars and eateries in London , let alone the tube !

I’m leaving it up to the general public to do the right thing , what a feckin moron !

It’s exploding in Italy now , we are way behind them so are gonna take a huge hit on mortality rates , and still people want to get out there and work /mingle

If he locked down my 15 year business would be down the drain , I wouldn’t give a toss to be honest , at least my family would stand a bit more of a chance .

I do feel that some people will only get the message once they lose a loved one , but sadly it will be too late !

Good luck peeps , whichever way you choose to go forward

It’s 14 days if there is 2 or more people in the household.

This is because person A could pass it onto person B on day 5 and person B would not get symptoms until day 10 onwards.

Wife is a nurse who has displayed symptoms.
If you or any member of your family  have symptoms do the right thing and stay off the glass.
We have a friend who has died from it as well.

This is the thing, it's down to joe public to follow the guidelines if they don't then further enforcement measures will have to come into effect the government has no choice, it's always the same the few idiots will spoil it for everyone else but this is on a mass scale. Panic buying is a prime example. People have been asked to not do it so there is stuff for everyone but morons still do it and only think of themselves ending in making the problem for everyone worse.

Saw that Indian chap last night pleading to the supermarkets to stop the new idea of giving the first hour trading to the over 70’s , he said they will flock there and turn it into the most dangerous place on earth.

Then sure enough on my local news later hundreds of elderly were crammed into line waiting to get in , they were being interviewed as they left , every single one had panic bought even with the knowledge that they would have the chance on every following day.

So no , I don’t think you can trust the public to do the right thing  ::)roll
